First time visiting & pretty disappointed to discover they've been around for a decade (we drove from the other side of the metro after seeing it on the Graziano's page). Coal fire brick oven with the perfect charred crust & heat bubbles. Dave Portnoy went to the wrong places. Crust had zero flop, sauce was sweet, tangy, & savory. Very generous toppings & so much flavor. There's not a better pizza in Central Iowa.
Busy place, apparently! We got take-out and drove from downtown to get it. The regular crust was good. Not a huge fan of the deep-dish. The toppings were decent and the cook on the pizza was nice. Not sure if I'd drive over 20 minutes for it again, though.
My husband and I were looking for a wood fired pizza place around the Des Moines metro and this place is by far the best we've had and we've tried quitw a few places. We drive 25 minutes across town to eat here! The sauce is wonderful! Toppings are always good. This is our second time coming and will NOT be our last.
